The FLW Rayovac Series is coming to Grand Lake April 3rd-5th and they will launch out of the Wolf Creek Park and Boating Facility in Grove.
Over 175 anglers are registered for the event and each boat will have a co-angler, which brings the number of anglers coming to Grand Lake to over 340.
“We are extremely excited to be fishing Grand Lake and the Wolf Creek Park is one of the most professional facilities in the United States,” said Ron Lappin, Tournament Director for FLW. “It is great that a city the size of Grove understands the impact fishing has and we are honored to be at Wolf Creek Park.”
“This is the first time in the last several years that there has been a full field for the Central Division Opener and that is a testament to Grand Lake and Wolf Creek Park,” said Lappin.
The total prize packages for anglers and co-anglers is over $230,000 and the winning angler will win $40,000 and a new Ranger Z518C boat with a 200 HP outboard. The winning co-angler will also win a new Ranger Boat.
The registration for the event will be at the Indigo Sky Casino on Wednesday with a tournament meeting following.
The tournament will launch out of Wolf Creek Park at 7am Thursday-Saturday.
The weigh-ins will be at 3PM at Wolf Creek Park on Thursday and Friday and the final weigh-in on Saturday will be at 4PM at the Wal-Mart parking lot in Grove. Spectators are welcome at the launch and weigh-ins and there is no charge.
The Grand Lake Association and several volunteers in the community will be helping launch the boats and driving their anglers to and from the parking lots with the help of Classic Golf Carts.
“This event will have a great impact on the area and we really appreciate the FLW Rayovac series coming to Grand Lake,” said Tad Jones, Executive Director of the Grand Lake Association.
